Events in December 2015
We owe you information from December and we don't want the events from this month to go by unmentioned.
The month began with small repairs of the walls, done by Alexandru, our oldest boy which is 19 years old. He wanted to paint the walls of his room and when he saw how nice it came out he continued with other rooms. And we believe he did a great job, he is good at it! (pictures 1 and 2)
Our blue minibus that we've used for so long, got old and its "wrinkles" begun to be seen everywhere. The exhaust is broken and sounds like a tractor, the back door no longer closes, but as long as God allows it we will use it with joy. (pictures 3 and 4)
Christmas is near and the lights, the decorations for this holiday, the Christmas tree decorated make this holiday to be felt more intensely. Alexandru and Cristian were the ones that decorated every corner of Casa Ray...and...they were very careful with every corner. (pictures 5 and 6)
A part of the Christmas preparations is cutting the pig. We couldn't miss this kind of preparation this year either, because feeding 25 people, 3 meals per day equals 75 servings per day, which isn't a small thing. (pictures 7 to 10)
Of course that the spiritual side of this holiday was by no means neglejcted. All the children, from the smallest to the oldest one, know the birth of Jesus Christ is the essence of this holiday. They did a lot of rehearsing and learned poems and songs that praise God to bring the good news by caroling. (pictures 11 and 12)
A flood in one of the bathrooms wasn't a Christmas preparation but..unexpected things always happen and we have to accept them the way they come. (pictures 13 and 14)
Laura, Nicu, Doina and Antonio had a month full of joy. They were taken to their native town to visit their mother and grandmother and to the town Roman to see their father. We remind you that, unfortunately, the mother of the Vacaru brothers has psychological problems and their father is an alcoholic. (pictures 15 and 16)
Catalina Gavril, along with the children, managed something special this month. In the craft workshop they made all sorts of wonders that they used to decorate the house, the walls and the Christmas tree. We let you admire these beautiful creations in pictures 17-25.
Nicu Vacaru was the one that celebrated his birthday in December. He turned 11 years old and we pray that God may bless his life further. (picture 26)
Last but not least, December was marked by the visit of our dear friends which came loaded with gifts for children.
We had visitors from Switzerland: Christian Sartorius, Martin and Angela Hintermann and Delia (pictures 27 to 29)
From Germany: Hans Alt and Iosif with their team (pictures 30 to 32), Georg and Hoegen (pictures 33 to 34), Markus Glock with his team (pictures 35 to 38) and Andrei Pascu with his family, a romanian that lives in Germany (pictures 39 to 40).
We had the surprise to be visited by people from Romania as well: a family from a neighboring village, Negresti, visited us one day and gave each child a gift bag.
Anca Radulescu as well, a public figure from Romania, through a Foundation in Bucharest, gave us all sorts of goodies very necessary for everyday living. (pictures 42 to 44)
Although our sponsorships are on the edge, with the goods received from various people with big heart, we see how God takes care of the orphans every day and we praise Him with all our hearts!
The children from Casa Ray were invited at a celebration organised by the Penticostal Church, where they were able to bring the good news of Jesus birth through carols, to many listeners. Surely they will be rewarded by God, but they were rewarded as well here on earth with gifts that they received at the celebraton. (picture 45)
The day of 24 of December arrived eventually and the meal prepaired by mother Tatiana thrilled all tasters. In the same day the children were caroling at various friends, colleagues, teachers, employees of Casa Ray, bringing joy to their hearts carols and their message. Mihaela was also with us for this celebration, which came from Sibiu with Mihai Slavu that came from Arad (a boy that grew up in Casa Ray and left 4 years ago) (pictures 46 to 48).
After 2 days of caroling we thought it would be good for the children to have some fun and rest in "the childrens town", so said and done! They had a great time...they tried all the possible sensations and made some great memories. (pictures 49 to 51)
Looking back at the year that just past, we see that we have a big team with us that puts their shoulder to make this work. God certainly sees even the smaller gesture and none of the actions done out of a clean heart won't go unrewarded. We and the children pray for you and we thank you with all my heart!
