Events in September 2015

We knew that the first month of autumn, September will be busy, but still ... we never expected to be quite so full! The beauty is that it was filled only with pleasant events, except the end of the holidays and starting school, but with time, certainly children will realize that to be educated is a good thing!

So, it was a month full of event more or less beautiful! HIS glory!

So ... first adventure in September, has been participating for six days at a camp in Mures county, Salard place. Why do I tell an adventure? Because our children have had some unique experiences, first experienced in life by some and full of adrenaline. In total we were 40 people in this camp. Children at Casa Ray along with other children from different families and six supervisors.

Integro summer village gave us everything we needed: accommodation, three rich meals every day, equipment necessary for Bible studies, attentive and nice staff, two instructors who helped us go through the activities at height available there, a closet full of drugs of any kind, another closet filled with room games and so on. We were very pleased with their reception and the facilities offered!

Even if the studies we've done have been some topical ones and young people had a lot to learn, even if the worship thrilled them beyond measure, all those games were most enchanted and that remained in their memory.  Games were different and from several categories, as follows: flying fox, big wall climbing, huge scale, a wall of tires,  chests tower, autonomous course at height,  autonomous course for children, swing, vines, swirls, offshore, riding, paintball, octoball, archery, trampoline, playground for children, volleyball etc.

In one day we also did a hike on a mountain high enough, and of course the classic campfire did not miss. If for us adults this camp was a pleasure, more so for the smaller and younger children will definitely be a very beautiful memory!

Special thanks to Mr. Hans Alt, which made this joy for children. (photos 1-14)

Even if this summer was not so full of visitors as it used to be in previous years, September has taken supremacy regarding this category.

Immediately after we got back from camp, 2 days later, we were visited by a friend from Germany, Michaela Kuhlmann, who came together with 2 of her daughters on a short vacation for 3 days. We had a very pleasant time together: football, hiking, pancakes with apple and cinnamon, games and the visit culminated with the celebration of 20 years of work with children in the town of Dobreni, celebration held just where the activity has started at Casa Speranta.           Being the last holiday evening, the children did not stay indifferent to it. They gathered all and played a game "hide-and-seek" . It was splendid! (photos 26,27)

Then they began preparing for school: books, notebooks, book covers, bags, clean and ironed clothes, new haircuts, polished shoes, flowers for teachers and everything else.(photos 28-30)

The night before starting the first day of school, the children were visited some by special people, this time from America. It was the first time we met, it's about Nick and Kurst. They were accompanied by a friend of theirs in Alba Iulia named Iulian, who soon became our friend. Even if their visit was a short one, of 3 day, we say goodbye and we felt like we left some very dear friends.Their visit also excited children very much: they went to school together both in the first day and in others that followed, we went to football within the swimming pool/beach, we played different games at home (octoball, cat and mouse, balloons), we had fellowshipp together, the children received advice from them, we had a meal together and we celebrated Florin's birthday. It was a really enjoyable time. We hope that next summer we again have the pleasure to spend time together. (photos 31-42)

A day after American friends left, God has sent others from Ireland this time. With them we only spent about 2 hours and unfortunately most of the children were at school. We met them also for the first time, but we felt that God made a true bond of friendship between us, we felt like in the company of old friends. They brought children from Casa Ray things necessary for everyday basic, have been a real blessing for us. We can say only that God will reward them for their care for us! (photo 43)

God began to care also for the supplies for the winter, we have already started to receive potatoes. Our friends from Switzerland, by means of those in Brasov made this wonderful gesture toward Casa Ray. (photos 44,45)

We continue to gather the fruits that grow in our garden and orchard. Lately, at the supplement at 16, the children were entertained with fresh apples from own production. (photos 46,47)

We have received an unexpected visit from Mihail, one of the boys who grew up in Casa Ray. The joy of seeing the other kids was really great! (photo 48)

You should know that we have also worked in September: vegetable in the freezer, pickles, peppers in vinegar, vegetable in sauce ...we let the photos speak more! (photos 49-52)

On September 26, our youngest daughter, Laura, turned five years old. All the children enjoyed the cakes specially made for her birthday. (photo 53)

At the end of the month, if all we were visited by so many people dear to us, and we have accepted the invitation of Ciohorani church, to make a joy to others also. (photos 54-56)

And when we thought the month was over, we had still a joy just in the last day of September. A group of three gentlemen from Ireland, who in recent years have made us one brief visit, decided this year to keep the good habit. They filled our pantry with all kinds of foods that are a great help for us. Again, we can only say that God will reward them!     (photos 57,58)

You realize that after such a full month, at the accounting department also with all the reports, thanking letters, was much work to do! But with joy in our hearts  we do this for our children! (photo 59)

We ought to come with many thanks, first to God, who amazes us with his care toward his orphans, but also thanks to you, our partners!
