Event in March 2022

March for us continued with the hosting of the group from Ukraine. We had pleasant moments together, in which we told each other small fragments of life, tense moments when with our mouths open we waited for news from their family left in Ukraine, sad moments together when we saw them with tears in their eyes when they received news that other objectives were bombed, moments of relaxation when we went on a trip to Red Lake, moments of strengthening the relationship when we worked together etc.

In other words, we believe that the time we spend together and the situation they are in has given us some lifelong friends.

After this group of 22 people left, we kept waiting for other groups, but no one came. In the north of the country, the Suceava area is full of refugees, who stay for a night or two and then go to other countries, but below, to the south, they rarely host.

Anyway, we have the door and arms open for such people and we look forward to them whenever they need a bed and a warm meal. (pictures 1-12)

We experienced great emotions in March and when Doinita, our eldest daughter, came home with an engagement ring on her finger. She was proposed to by Cristi, with whom she has been friends for half a year. We are very happy for them and pray that God will guide them in all their decisions and give them much happiness.           And because we now have "new connections" in the north of the country, we managed in March to make a trip with the children to Radauti, to the church where Cristi comes from. It was a great joy for the children, who due to the pandemic did not have such a thing for a long time. (picture 15)

March 8, Mother's Day, was a joyous day, in which every little girl, girl or woman received a little attention. The children had the opportunity to give a flower or a greeting card to several mothers. Flowers appeared both on Tatiana's mother's picture and on Madalina and Catalina's desk. The children are blessed to have people caring for them like a mother and to whom to give a flower on March 8. (pictures 16,17,18)

The children were also blessed this month with a donation of books from the "Smile" Association, books collected from middle school and high school students. We created our own library with the books we had and the ones we received, and the children even come and ask for a book to “borrow”. (pictures 19, 20)

Because the meat has become less and less, we slaughtered a pig and a calf this month, on which occasion we managed to make various dishes, only good for young and old. (pictures 21-24)

Some of the problems we faced were that we had to replace one of the electric boilers because it broke. (picture 25)

Also, on our farm, we received a donation for a grain mill, where we had to repair its engine. Unfortunately, after 2 weeks of use, the engine burned again. We rewound it a second time, adjusted the mill, but after another week, the engine burned again. L

It is very difficult for us without a mill, because we have to grind for chickens and turkeys and for cows and pigs, the ground quantity is large and it is very difficult to load the bags every time, to go to another locality to grind them, then to load them again to bring them home and to unload them again so that we can feed the animals. We still believe that the best solution for us is to have our own mill, but we are afraid to rewind the engine again, we have no knowledge in the field, to know what would be good to buy, what brand, what power, what rotation , what granulation etc.!           Cristina and Alexandra celebrated this month. Cristina turned 17 and Alexandra 8 years old. (pictures 28,29)
